Education & Training

Dr. Islam completed his MBBS from Dhaka Medical College (DMC), one of the country's most competitive medical schools. He went on to qualify BCS (Health) and earned his FCPS in Surgery, followed by an MS in Hepatobiliary Surgery from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) — giving him a deep, specialised foundation in the surgical management of the liver, bile duct, gallbladder and pancreas.

International Fellowship

To further refine his skills in complex surgery, Dr. Islam completed a Fellowship in Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic & Liver Transplant Surgery at Apollo Hospital, Delhi, one of South Asia's leading centres for advanced hepatobiliary and transplant care. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), an international recognition awarded to surgeons who meet rigorous standards of education, training, and ethical practice.

Current Position

He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Hepatobiliary Surgery at the National Gastroliver Institute & Hospital, Dhaka, where he treats liver, bile duct, gallbladder and pancreatic conditions using modern, minimally invasive techniques that ensure smaller incisions, less pain, and faster recovery for his patients.
